Automated Test Equipment
The Tapestry environment can be enhanced to provide and excellent interface for factory certification and product testing applications where a remote control environment is desired. This system was designed for our lower cost LabMate, but works equally well with the LabPro.
Some features include:

A set of pre-built scenario’s can be defined and
resident on the hard disk. The user selects the desired scenario to
execute via the remote interface (e.g.. GPIB) and starts it.
Scenario’s can be run individually or in a loop. |

The user runs the simulator real-time under
remote control (e.g.. RS232). You specifying the desired location
and time, issuing a START. In this configuration, the simulator will
run for 72 hours continually or until terminated. The control can be
implemented using a batch file or via RS232, GPIB, or Ethernet. |

We have implemented a set of
commands that the user can access remotely that

§ Start / Stop Simulation
§ Set initial time / position
§ (Pre-Built) Scenario Select
§ Rewind/Re-start
§ Run continually
§ Upload file (extract a recorded data file from the simulator)
§ Pause simulation
§ Set channel Power
§ Command Built In Test (BIT) remotely
§
Set satellite assignment and other GPS
particulars.

Pass/Fail criteria. We have embellished our built in receiver interface to compute the difference between the simulation truth data and receiver-under-test data. This difference (position, velocity, heading) can be communicated to the controlling / master system. |
Note: Do not confuse our Remote Controlled System with our Closed Loop Control System. In a closed loop system, the user inputs dynamic trajectory messages continually into the simulator. The closed loop system is only available on the LabPro.
