Base System Configuration

The Tapestry system is a synergistic combination of our Windows controlling software and our  X-14 Digital Signal Processing Module (X14-DSPM).  The following graphic illustrates the computer desktop with all of the Tapestry software elements:

The Tapestry system can be purchased in two configurations: The LabPro and LabMate.

In the LabPro configuration,  the system is designed for complete testing from design through productization. Complete GPS and auxiliary sensor modeling is provided.

This system can be (optionally) configured to generate strapdown IRU measurements, 1553 ICD-GPS-059 data, ARINC-429 data, analog and discrete automotive sensor outputs, multiple RF outputs suitable for attitude determination systems, and more...

Feature Composite of Scenario Based Tapestry Application

The following software elements are bundled and/or available with the LabPro.

Build Scenario. This software application contains a full featured 6-DOF vehicle motion generator, antenna gain pattern and vehicle silhouette effects, a GPS constellation editor, additional support sensors with error models, and a host of other features.

Run Scenario. This application executes scenario's constructed with the Build Scenario. It allows for real-time adjustment of output power, satellite assignment, and manages the interface with the Unit Under Test (UUT). Real time comparison and display of receiver data with truth data provided.

Navigation Data Bit Editor. This powerful application provides a mechanism for displaying and editing the raw telemetry navigation data, including the HOW and TLM words and all subframe 1-3 and 4-5 parameters. Waas data is also accessible.

Calibration. With this module you can calibrate the simulator power output levels at your laboratory without returning the unit to us for yearly maintenance. Due to the digital and RF design, there is no interchannel errors that require calibration.

Remote Control Operation. You may operate the simulator remotely with LabView© or LabWindows© if you desire. This feature allows for easy remote control or unattended operation via GPIB, Ethernet, or RS232.

Optional Elements include:

Waas Message Builder. This application manages the Waas channels that can be added to your simulator.  Complete control - with regard to output rate and data content - is provided. Data can be viewed in the Navigation Data Bit Editor allowing for further control at the bit level.  Included with the Waas option is a MOPS compliant jammer signal.

Closed Loop Operation. With our run-time kernel, you input remote trajectory data and command messages that implement a true closed loop operating configuration. In this mode you control the simulated vehicle motion via a GPIB, Ethernet, or ScramNet interface. GPS modeling is provided automatically by the LabPro system. You may input special GPS commands such as RAIM, almanac and/or ephemeris downloads, etc. In the base configuration, we are a functional drop-in replacement for the STel 7200 series simulators. Programmable 1-PPS timing options.

In the LabMate configuration,  the system is designed for factory or final test applications. The user controls the simulator either real-time via the Run Scenario application or through a remote interface such as LabWindows or one developed by the user.

This system uses the same digital hardware but a scaled back software suite. It can be upgraded at a later date to a full-up LabPro. Auxiliary sensor data outputs are not available for the LabMate.

The following software elements are bundled and/or available with LabMate.

Run Scenario. When bundled with the LabMate, this application executes pre-installed scenario's resident on the hard disk or runs real-time using the mouse or a remote control interface. Real-time power level adjustment, satellite assignment, and display from the receiver under test are provided.

Calibration. With this module, you can calibrate the simulator power output levels at your laboratory without returning the unit to us for yearly maintenance.

Optional elements include:

Remote Control Operation. You may operate the simulator remotely with LabView© or LabWindows© if you desire. This feature allows for easy remote control or unattended operation via GPIB, Ethernet, or RS232.

The Tapestry software is installed and tested with X14-DSPM with a 1 year warranty.  We provide technical support with a 24-hour response via email (preferred) or phone. In addition, for the P code system, should your hardware fail for any reason and require repair, we maintain a spare that can be provided in the interim for your use. The warranty can be extended for subsequent years for a nominal fee based upon the configuration of your system.

In any configurations, the Constellation Simulators are delivered turnkey in a rugged rack mounted 4U or 5U chassis with a high performance Windows2000 embedded computer system. We have flexible configurations and can incorporate most upgrades or modifications you desire.

Our simulators are known for their capabilities and features. Please contact us for a more comprehensive overview or to arrange a demonstration!
